About me

“I did it Kelly! I actually did it!
Thank you for championing me! Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
Gemma, Mummy to Baby Number 3

I'm Kelly- a fully qualified Hypnobirthing teacher and founder of Birth Positively. I am a mum of two girls, based in Bristol.

When I was pregnant with my first baby, like many women, I felt somewhere between nervous and terrified about the prospect of giving birth. At the time there was lots in the media about Kate Middleton reportedly using Hypnobirthing techniques for the birth of Prince George.  I thought,  "If it's good enough for the Royals, it's good enough for me!"  So I signed up for a Hypnobirthing course and never looked back!

I entered labour feeling calm, confident and in control. I managed to labour without any pain relief- not my intention but I just never felt the need for it. My labour had slight complications in the minutes before Aila was born, but my sense of calm and control never waivered. I was absolutely elated- not only with our beautiful daughter, but with what I had just experienced.

After the birth of our second daughter, Nora (another birth with no pain relief), I decided to leave my job as Primary School Teacher (which I had done for the previous 13 years) and qualify as a Hypnobirthing teacher, so I could support other couples and provide them with the best opportunity of achieving the birth they want.

And I am loving every moment of it!
